Swiatek Captures 2025 Wimbledon Title Over Anisimova

Saturday’s Results from Wimbledon

Saturday’s women’s final at Wimbledon featured Pole Iga Swiatek winning her six Major title, defeating American Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0.

Needing 57 minutes to prevail, Swiatek hit 10 winners, three aces, won 72 percent of her first serve points and broke her American opponent on six occasions.

Playing in her six Major final, Swiatek will move up to No. 3 in the world when the latest rankings are released. The 24-year-old had last won a title at the 2024 French Open.

She will also take home 3 million British Pounds for taking home the title.

Anisimova, who had defeated top seed Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals, will move up to No. 7 in the world on Monday. A new career high.

The American won her first-ever 1000 level event in Doha, Qatar earlier this year.

Anisimova and Swiatek will now shift their attentions to the hard-courts of North America. Anisimova made the finals of the Canadian Open last year, and Swiatek is a former US Open winner. Taking the title in 2022.

Men’s Final Preview: Jannik Sinner vs. Carlos Alcaraz

Sunday’s marquee men’s final at Wimbledon will feature the world No. 1 and No. 2 players locking horns once again for the biggest prize in tennis.

After playing one of the best matches in history at last month’s French Open in Paris, France, Carlos Alcaraz enters the final attempting to score a three-peat.

The 22-year-old Spaniard owns an 8-4 career head-to-head series lead over Jannik Sinner and has won the last five meetings.

Alcaraz ousted No. 4 seed Taylor Fritz in the semifinals in four sets, while Sinner needed three sets to dispatch the greatest men’s player in Novak Djokovic.

Sinner has defeated Djokovic on five straight occasions. Djokovic was aiming to win his 25th career Major title and eighth at Wimbledon.

It is unknown at this time if the legendary Serb will play Wimbledon in 2026 and what his plans are for the rest of 2025.

Djokovic has not won a Grand Slam since capturing the 2023 US Open title. The 38-year-old recently captured his 100th career title at Geneva, Switzerland prior to the start of Roland Garros.
