Korda Aims for Quarterfinals at Winston-Salem Open

Wednesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results and Previews

Former top 15 player Sebastian Korda returns to round of 16 action at the Winston-Salem Open on Wednesday.

Off Tour since Roland Garros, Korda hopes that a strong week in Winston-Salem will bode well for his chances at next week’s US Open in New York City.

The American will take on Kamil Majchrzak from Poland on Wednesday.

Other matches that will take place today will include No. 4 seed Gabriel Diallo, No. 5 seed Lorenzo Sonego and No. 10 seed Sebastian Baez all in action.

On Tuesday, top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas crashed out of the event, losing to Yunchaokete Bu from China 6-3, 6-2.

Apart from winning the title in Doha, Qatar earlier this year, Tsistipas hasn’t performed at the level that took him to a career high of No. 3 in the world back in August of 2021.
