Auger-Aliassime Wins Basel Title; Sinner Claims Vienna Crown

Swiss Indoors Basel—Basel, Switzerland

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime captured a much-needed title on Sunday in Basel, Switzerland, defeating Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(3), 7-6(5).

Recording an impressive straight-set victory, Auger-Aliassime used his pinpoint serve and world-class backhand to offset his opponent.

Striking 13 aces and hitting 44 winners, Auger-Aliassime also won 93 percent of his first serve points.

Capturing his first title of the season, Auger-Aliassime will remain at No. 19 in the world when the latest rankings are released. The Canadian also won the title in 2022.

Hurkacz, who is still in contention to make the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy, will next play in the Rolex Paris Masters. He is currently ranked No. 9 in the race.
