Cincinnati Open 2025: Qualifying Entry Lists Announced
- Wimbledon quarterfinalist Laura Siegemund leads women’s field
- Former Cincinnati Open champion Borna Coric headlines men’s field
- 48 players to compete Aug 5-6 for 12 spots in each main draw
CINCINNATI (July 17, 2025) – A former champion as well as a player who competed in last week’s Wimbledon quarterfinals are among the entrants for qualifying at the Cincinnati Open.
In total, 48 women and 48 men will compete in the two-round qualifying events on Aug. 5-6, with 12 of each advancing to join the main draw fields.
“The qualifying rounds feature some of the fiercest competition during the tournament because there is so much at stake for these players. It could truly be life changing for a player to break into the main draw,” said Tournament Director Bob Moran. “These two days will not only be some of the busiest in terms of the number of matches to be played, but most main draw players will be on site practicing as well. It’s a great opportunity for fans to take in a lot of tennis while also being among the first to see our transformed campus.”
The highest ranked player in the WTA qualifying field is No. 54 Laura Siegemund, a former US Open doubles champion who reached the Wimbledon singles quarterfinals earlier this month. Joining Siegemund in the field is Solana Sierra, a 21-year-old Argentinean who became the first lucky loser to reach the Wimbledon Round of 16.
Other notable women’s qualifying entrants include former Cincinnati Open doubles champion Taylor Townsend, 17-year-old Iva Jovic and 18-year-old Victoria Mboko.
The 2022 Cincinnati Open champion Borna Coric headlines the men’s field. Coric earned ATP Comeback Player of the Year honors that season as he defeated Rafael Nadal enroute to the title. A pair of Wimbledon stars will join him in the field: Chilean Nicolas Jarry, who qualified and advanced to the Round of 16, and Rinky Hijikata, who reached the doubles final.
A pair of men with regional ties are in the field – Nishesh Basavareddy, who is from Carmel, Ind., and Liam Draxl, who played at the University of Kentucky.
In 2022, Caroline Garcia became the first qualifier to win the Cincinnati Open title. All time, 10 women and 23 men have advanced to at least the quarterfinals after qualifying.
Earlier this month, the singles entry lists for the 96-player main draw fields were released and are led by the world’s No. 1 ranked players and Cincinnati Open defending champions Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner.

The expanded Cincinnati Open will take place at the transformed Lindner Family Tennis Center. The growth is part of a $260 million investment with the City of Mason, Warren County and the State of Ohio. It will bring the total number of outdoor courts at the venue to 31 while also adding a six-court indoor facility, pickleball and padel courts, new locker room facilities for professional and recreational player use, and a Clubhouse that will be utilized year-round with restaurant and function room space.
