The Tactical-Emotional Advantage of Novak Djokovic

World No. 1 and 24-time Major winner Djokovic announced on his Instagram page today that he has split with long-time coach Goran Ivanisevic.

The immediate move will see Djokovic head into the clay-court season with many questions to answer.

The Serbian great is without a title in 2024 and has a slew of points to defend as the defending champion of the French Open and US Open. He was also a finalist at Wimbledon.

Djokovic also has his sights set on winning the only title that has eluded him to date in his career, an Olympic gold medal. The 2024 Olympic Games are set to take place at Roland Garros in Paris, France this summer.

Ivanisevic, who had been instrumental in Djokovic’s success throughout the years, helped the Serb to 12 of his 24 Major Crowns.

Djokovic will turn 37 on May 22 this year.

Wow, this is a huge move for Djokovic! Goran Ivaniševi? has been such a pivotal figure in his career, and it’ll be interesting to see how this change impacts Novak’s game moving forward. While change can bring fresh perspectives, it’s always tough to part ways with someone who’s been such a close ally. Wishing both Novak and Ivaniševi? the best in their future endeavors!
