Italian star Jannik Sinner claimed his seventh career ATP Tour title on Sunday in Montpellier, France, defeating hard-serving American Maxime Cressy 7-6(3), 6-3.

Entering the event as the No. 2 seed, Sinner needed one hour and 37 minutes to win his first title of 2023. Overcoming 10 aces from his opponent, Sinner won 87 percent of his first serve points and saved all three break points against his delivery.

Improving to 1-0 against Cressy in lifetime meetings, Sinner will be ranked No. 14 in the world on Monday.

Cressy, who was looking to capture his second career title, dismissed No. 1 seed Holger Rune in the semifinals.

Sebastian Baez dazzled the hometown fans on Sunday in Cordoba, Argentina dismissing countryman Federico Coria 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
