Tsitsipas Wins Mallorca Open; Fritz Captures Eastbourne Title

Mallorca Championships—Mallorca, Spain

No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas captured his firs-ever ATP Tour title on grass on Saturday in Mallorca, Spain, defeating home-country hero Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(2).

In a hotly contested encounter that lasted two hours and 31 minutes, Tsitsipas proved the superior player in the final set tiebreaker to win his ninth career title.

Hitting eight aces, striking 25 winners and breaking serve on four occasions, Tsitsipas improved his head-to-head record against Bautista Agut to 3-0.

With the Wimbledon Championships set to begin on Monday in London, England, tournament favourites on the men’s side according to Bet on Wimbledon with Bitcoin will be Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Matteo Berrettini and Carlos Alcaraz and Tsitsipas. On women’s side, watch out for top seed Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur, Paula Badosa and the return of Serena Williams.

Bautista Agut, who was attempting to win his 11th career title, defeated world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals. Both Bautista Agut and Tsitsipas will next see action at Wimbledon, which begins Monday in London, England.

Rothesay International—Eastbourne, Great Britain

Top ranked American Taylor Fritz continued his strong form this season by dispatching fellow American Maxime Cressy 6-2, 6-7(4), 7-6(4).

In a match that featured two big servers, Fritz slammed 17 aces to 11 by Cressy. Using his experience that led him to his first Masters 1000 title earlier this year in Indian Wells, Fritz gained an early mini-break lead in the final set tiebreaker and never looked back.

Standing with three career titles, Fritz will enter Wimbledon as the 14th ranked player in the world.

Cressy, who made the finals of a tune-up event for the Australian Open in January, improved to No. 45 in the world in the latest rankings.
