Rublev Wins Fourth Straight 500 Level event in Rotterdam; Schwartzman Captures Buenos Aires Crown

ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament—Rotterdam, Netherlands

No. 4 seed Andrey Rublev continued his red-hot play on the ATP Tour on Sunday, capturing his fourth straight title at the 500 level event in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Defeating inform Marton Fucsovics 7-6(4), 6-4, Rublev needed one hour and 50 minutes and three aces to upend his inspired opponent. Breaking serve once in the match to open the second set, Rublev saved all four break points against his delivery and improved to 2-1 lifetime against his Hungarian opponent.

Rublev, who now holds eight career titles, recently won the ATP Cup with his Russian teammates prior to the start of the Australian Open. The 23-year-old will stay at No. 8 in the world and will next take part in the Doha, Qatar event next week.

Fucsovics, who entered the week as a qualifier ranked No. 59 in the world, dismissed Borna Coric, Tommy Paul and Reilly Opelka earlier in the event. The 29-year-old will move up to No. 46 in the world on Monday.

Argentina Open—Buenos Aires, Argentina

Top seed and hometown favourite Diego Schwartzman dispatched countryman Francisco Cerundolo 6-1, 6-2 on Sunday to claim the the title in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Taking home his fourth career title, Schwartzman hit one ace, won 65 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on six occasions. Rebounding after an early loss in Cordoba, Argentina last week, Schwartzman will remain at the No. 9 spot in the world on Monday.

Cerundolo, who took inspiration from his younger brother Juan Manuel capturing his maiden title in Cordoba last week, reached the final in Buenos Aires on the back of dismissing Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Pablo Andujar, Benoit Paire and Federico Coria earlier in the tournament. The 23-year-old will move up to a new career high of No. 112 on Monday. An increase of 25 places in his ranking position.
